Infectious Disease & Covid-19
Updates and Policy

Please know Sacred Wandering is still here for you.

Our lives have been forever changed by something we cannot see.  Many of our community members lost loved ones or know someone whose life has been permanently altered by Covide-19.  I know only too well what this pandemic has done to everyone’s lives as it has to me.  As we adjust to a new normal in communities, we will need a compassionate shoulder on which to rest our heads.

In that light, please know we take extra precautions and measures to ensure our clinic remains safe and ready to serve you.  We follow the guidelines from trusted sources, including the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and our local Ozaukee and Milwaukee health departments.

Additionally, we have adopted an “Infectious Disease Policy for all of Sacred Wandering” as of January 1, 2022.

What Does This Mean For You?

In March 2020, we implemented an infectious disease policy for Sacred Wandering, including our behavioral health ministry.  If you have symptoms of any kind, we ask that you call the office to reschedule your appointment as per the new policy.

Please know that if you show up at our office with symptoms, you will be turned away per CDC guidelines, and your appointment will be rescheduled. You may also be charged a nominal rescheduling fee if you use commercial insurance for our counseling services.

To reduce the risk of exposure, we ask clients to come alone for appointments unless a caregiver is required or unless you or other family members are having their own or combined sessions.

Cleaning
Before our first client, we wipe down all doors and knobs with Caviwipes and then spray with a virucide after every client.  Please understand we do this to ensure everyone’s continued health – especially yours.  We spray and wipe doors and knobs halfway through the day and when we leave at night.

Please help us stop the spread of the cold and other viruses.

Physical Distancing vs. Social Distancing

At Sacred Wandering, we believe the term “Social Distancing” to be an irresponsible term applied to a possible solution: the Covid-19 problem.  At its core, the term is a good practice – to distance ourselves from social events and gatherings; however, it carries with it an unintended possible additional interpretation – to remove oneself altogether from any social responsibility.  We, therefore, prefer the term “Physical Distancing”, which is a more intentional and responsible term – to place sufficient space between yourself and another person to not contract or spread viruses or germs.  It still allows for social responsibility and caring for other human beings, but in a way that is safe from physical harm.

We must all come together as a society to distance ourselves physically when we are not well.  This should be the case during pandemics and other times of the year when we are not feeling well.  Suppose we have a cold, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, or other contagious germs and viruses. In that case, we should maintain a physical distance from our community to not contribute to the spread of diseases of any kind.
