The Center / Clinic

At the moment, Counseling at Sacred Wandering is a solo practice of one Licensed Professional Counselor who walks a sacred journey towards discovery and health with each client who walks through our doors. We also offer Reiki services through our Pastoral Center from our on-staff Life Coach, Jan Soldon.

Sacred Wandering is more of a way of being – a way of living – than it is a concept.  It was born from the understanding that we each travel a sacred path; gathering into ourselves, with others, and into the Divine as we travel on our life-journey.

As we travel our individual and collective paths, we collect stuff on which we need to process or understand. At times we need help with the processing. We’re here to help!

Janet C. Soldon, MA, RLSW, RM/T

Jan is a Reiki Master and Teacher of the Usui Shiki Rhoyo method, as well as an Intuitive Energy Practitioner and Life Coach. She has been practicing in the Reiki field for 25 years and maintains a small private practice out of her Mequon office.

Prior to working as an Energy Practitioner, Jan worked tirelessly as a Social Worker, Supervisor, and trainer in a county run Child Welfare and Protective Services, as well as other agencies, which provided her a strong foundation for energy healing and helped her establishing and engaging in good self-care. She has a unique perspective that helps her clients work towards their goals of health and happiness.

Jan is culturally competent and able to help people from all walks of life. In 2004, Jan and her husband moved to Tucson, Arizona where she worked in private practice as a Reiki Practitioner and Teacher. During that time Jan was a key member in the development and implementation of, as well as teaching in, the “Wellness Education” component of the Therapeutic Massage Program at a local community college.

Fr. Kenneth J Nelan, MS, CTMH, NCC, LPC

In 2019, I entered private practice as a nationally certified (NBCC) licensed professional counselor after working for many years in an area group practice. My approach to helping others walk a path of good mental health emphasizes a person-centered multicultural trauma-informed approach that empowers clients to address their problems in a way that extends into long-term results. I use a tailored approach for every person and believe that since every client is different, so too should be their road to success.

My education is somewhat eclectic and honors my Mexican heritage and upbringing. I obtained a Bachelors Degree in “Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latino Studies”, a minor in “Community Engagement and Education”, and a certificate in “Latin American Studies” from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. I completed a Masters in Educational Psychology (APA accredited) under the Community Counseling program at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and I continue my education in all fields associated with the Mental Health industry, including integrative therapies.

Prior to UWM, I studied at Sacred Heart School of Theology with an emphasis on Pastoral Counseling and Theology, and Cardinal Stritch University with an emphasis on Religious Studies and Psychology.  I am an ordained Independent Catholic priest currently serving in the United American Catholic Church.

I hold certificates in hypnosis, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and TeleMental Health Therapy. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Wisconsin Counseling Association, EMDRIA, and the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology. I am also board certified as a professional counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I recently (2022) completed the Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional (CAIMHP) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional certification courses – certifications pending.
